Welcome to Pingry’s Blueprint for the Future Campaign report, which celebrates the 5,473 donors and dedicated volunteers who made Pingry’s Campaign a reality. The historic, six-year fundraising effort closed on June 30, 2016, having exceeded its $65 million goal and raised an extraordinary $76.7 million. Such a number might feel abstract, but if you pay a visit to the Basking Ridge and Short Hills Campuses, you will see these gifts at work. After a near-comprehensive transformation of the Lower School during the summer of 2015, we finished the job this past summer while also moving forward with the modernization of our Basking Ridge Campus and the construction—which is nearly finished—of the Miller A. Bugliari ’52 Athletics Center. These capital investments of $22 million are ultimately in service to the people who occupy Pingry day to day: the students who benefit from the Pingry experience and the teachers who teach, mentor, and inspire them. In addition, having secured $28 million in additional endowment, we can ensure greater access and affordability to a broad range of families and increased faculty development opportunities. Campaign donors have guaranteed that our modernized facilities and enhanced financial resources will provide current and future students with the best possible education.
While gifts to endowment and bricks-and-mortar projects build a foundation for the School’s future, gifts to The Pingry Fund, which constituted 23 percent of our overall Campaign results, help sustain Pingry on an annual basis. With the Campaign’s finish line behind us, The Pingry Fund remains the source that fuels the School year to year, enhancing programs in arts, academics, and athletics, and providing essential professional development opportunities, financial aid, and technology resources.
I invite you to scroll through this site to learn more about the transformations that have come as a result of this Campaign and to meet members of our community who have made our students’ continued excellence not just a possibility, but an inevitability. Our thanks go to our dedicated Campaign Co-Chairs Kathy Hugin P ’11, ’13 and Steve Newhouse ’65, P ’95, ’97, ’99, the hard-working members of the Campaign Steering Committee and the Board of Trustees, and every individual—student, alumnus/a, family member, faculty member, staff member, and friend—who has joined in Pingry’s legacy of generosity to help make this historic campaign a resounding success. With the Blueprint Campaign as a foundation and its resources already at work, we have begun to anticipate the next set of challenges. Our Board’s Strategic Planning Committee is already exploring how we will continue to develop the School’s excellent programs and support our extraordinary people. With such a supportive and vibrant community, we have every reason to look forward to an ever-brighter future for Pingry.
